Parents Supporting Their Son's Entrepreneurship and Willing to Share Parenting Experiences

10-year-old Joseph is a member of the Liu family. In June of this year, he launched his own personal brand, "BJ Games," and collaborated with "Jiuga Games" to release the tabletop game "Arctic Party". The game has been incredibly successful, and the profits are expected to be donated to his father Liu Luanxiong's charity fund, the "Life Assistance Program". Joseph's older sister, Liu Xiuhua, also started her own business at the age of 10 in 2018 by selling children's toy "Ghost Spit (Slime)". She earned 100,000 yuan in revenue, which she also donated to Liu Luanxiong's charity fund.

Their understanding of philanthropy at such a young age is influenced by their mother, Ganbi. After attending a storytelling session at the book fair last Sunday, Ganbi made a special trip to the Children's World venue to show her support for their products. The booth was crowded with people, and a group of children enthusiastically played with "Arctic Party," filling the air with laughter. Joseph also interacted with other children at the event, acting like a sales representative.

Ganbi smiled and said that Joseph's entrepreneurship actually stemmed from a common childhood ailment, but unexpectedly turned into a business opportunity. She said, "At that time, I noticed that he was spending more time playing electronic products. As a parent, of course, I didn't want that, so I found a way to gather his friends and cousins to play tabletop games. After playing 6 or 7 times, he suddenly had an idea and told me that global warming has a significant impact on the Earth's ecology. He wanted to create a tabletop game about this issue."

As an educated mother, Ganbi naturally fully supports her children's entrepreneurial ideas. She said, "Both Liu Sheng and I are encouraging figures. Joseph's New Year's money is limited, so we try to help him as much as possible." Finally, after six months, Joseph personally designed the game's gameplay and characters. After collaborating and negotiating with various parties, "Arctic Party" was successfully launched in June of this year.

Parents' assistance doesn't mean that there are no limits to the startup costs. Ganbi pointed out that the business world is always pragmatic, and she also needs to educate her children about the need to make choices between reality and ideals. Ganbi gave an example, saying that the early packaging size of "Arctic Party" was relatively small, but Joseph carefully noticed that the lack of a shielded enclosure for the cards could lead to them being exposed. Therefore, in order to improve the gaming experience, even though it increased costs, they decided to revise it.

However, when Joseph proposed changing the transparent plastic bag packaging to paper strips, Ganbi believed that this change would increase costs and also delay the sales time for the Royal Castle "WINDSOR Board Game Party" in June and the book fair in July. So after discussing it together, Ganbi explained to her son that opening the transparent plastic bag packaging is something that children can do, and they ultimately decided not to make any changes.

Ganbi really loves children. She asked the reporter if they had children during the interview and voluntarily shared some parenting experiences. She believes that while teaching children, she can also learn something and become more open-minded, tolerant, and understanding. She said, "Sometimes, parents unconsciously impose their own perceived correct values on their children. But in the process of accompanying them in their entrepreneurship, I understand that everyone is an individual with their own preferences and choices. We should respect each other's opinions and let them try things on their own. Success is certainly pleasing, but failures are not important. What's important is to try. Without trying, one cannot grow in the real world."
